Using Weight Watchers or Slimming World? Read this!

If you have tried the slimming clubs such as Weight Watchers or Slimming World and only got so far before you were tempted to just have a nibble of that chocolate cake or finish the little one’s left over fish fingers then there is a reason for that.

Fundamentally both the Weight Watchers and Slimming World promote healthy low fat & carbohydrate eating with gentle exercise and that is really the best way from a physical level to lose weight. Therefore you are burning more calories than you are taking on board and therefore your body is burning it’s reserves.

This is all fantastic stuff however there is another aspect to everyone’s eating habits that despite their best endeavours the slimming clubs are unable to make significant inroads into namely the psychological aspect.

This can be as simple as being told as a child to always clear your plate, and maintain that practise through to adulthood, where you decide on how big a portion to have on the plate. It can also be a more complex matter of comfort eating which frequently stems from childhood when you were given your favourite snack as a ‘reward for being brave’ or to ‘put a smile on your face’.

Typically these rewards would be high carbohydrate items like chocolate, crisps  biscuits or sweet treats. So then as an adult who is feeling rough you reach out for some of your comfort food and gorge on it. Very few people will reach for an apple or banana as a comfort food item.

So if you want to reap the full benefit of your investment in your membership fees of the likes of Weight Watchers and Slimming World then you could do a lot worse than have a few sessions with a specialist who can help you to look again at your relationship with food and the reasons that at certain times you find it much harder to step away from the snacks.

One of the most effective approaches is using hypnotherapy that will help you to make the changes in how you deal with food at a subconscious level making it easy to stick to your diet and even motivate you to increase your exercise levels.

Many people have used hypnotherapy audio programs and others find that the personal tailored approach of a professional therapist suit them better. Typically like all things in life the tailored personal approach tends to be much more effective.

At the West London Hypnotherapy Clinic we know that the best way to help our clients lose the weight they need and to keep it off is the personal tailored approach and we offer 7 sessions with a therapist for just £300. And given the advances in technology we can deliver this package either in person at our clinics or anywhere via Skype.
